It's fun. It keeps you in touch with people you might otherwise loose contact with. But a viewer is not competled to reply, like he/she might in response to email. It is like having a column in a newspaper; it gives you an opportunity to express your views to the world. It's exhilerating just to think of 6 billion people having the potential to view your blog. In my case, I make copies of all of my blogs and keep them in book-form for future viewing by relatives and friends. If I have made a blog on a subject after considerable study, it is a valuable resource for me for future writings. and speeches.
