Last night Jan and I attended the Christmas party of the Meriwed Sunday School Class of the County Club United Methodist Church, held at the Indian Hills Country Club. For nearly 30 years I was an active member of this very special group, created at the close of World War II for newly-weds. Last night's party was dedicated to an icon of the class, BUD COX, who recently passed away. Bud had arranged for the Christmas Party at Indian Hills for some 47 years, with the Pete Eye Trio furnishing the music for dancing for most of those years, including last night. A large banner on display appropriatedly proclaimed "This one's for you, Bud!" In the above picture of the class, taken in 1994, Bud is the distinguished gentleman appearing in the top picture on the back row, third from the left. His charming wife Marty is just below him.
