Early Christmas Eve, Jan and I attended a Christmas Mass at The Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception (shown here), at 11th and Broadway, Downtown Kansas City. This is the chief church of the Kansas City-St. Joseph Diocese of the Catholic Church. This is the church with the golden dome--easily confused with the Grace and Holy Trinity Cathedral of the Episcopal Church, at 13th and Broadway. That is the center of the diocese of West Missouri. It was a beautiful service that we attended: banks of red and white poinsettias in the center, amidst the 12 large stained-glass windows and 12 large pillars. We sat in the front row on the far side. It is kinda nice being able to see the people from 3 other sides, facing the center. Jan loves this cathedral. I gave her a small replica of the cathedral for Christmas.
