Putting People to Work
Unemployment has reached 6%. That is considered critical. I think the government should provide jobs for needed projects, like FDR did during the Great Depression. The problem is, the government doesn't have the money, and in fact is rapidly getting deeper in debt.. To help solve the dilemma, taxes should be raised on both the very rich and the middle class, even though it would mean a reduced standard of living for many. Providing more jobs will decrease expenditures for welfare. It makes more sense to me to spend for jobs instead of spending for welfare.
