Energy sources of the future

Recent info about Russia has changed my thinking concerning our country's future energy sources. It appears that Putin's Russia wants to re-establish the Empire. Countries that were former members of the Soviet Union are in danger. We are committed to defend Poland and various other countries if attacked. For the present it appear we are going to have to put more emphasis on national security and the economy and less emphasis on global warming and renewable energy sources. After being down and out after the 1991 break-up of the Union, Russia has become one of the world's fastest growing economies. It probably has the world's greatest reserves of mineral and energy resources. Over 70 percent of Russian crude oil production is EXPORTED. We IMPORT 50% of our oil. It is urgent that we supply more of our own energy--and soon.
