My comments after listening to last nite's debate: I'm getting very tired of hearing a lot of the same from each and of their avoiding direct answers to questions. I didn't like Stephanopoulos and Gibson seeking promises from them about no raising of taxes. Both candidates promised not to raise taxes for the middle class. And the interrogators were amiss in not asking the candidates what they would do to fix social security and medicare. To his credit, Obama got a little bit into social security and said he favored increased taxes for the very wealthy.
As to which of the two candidates I would favor, their views are really not very different. I would select the one that would make the best LEADER, taking into account, among other things, experience, including experience in bringing the two parties together on issues; gender; race; communication skills; knowledge; and spouses.
