The kiosk is in. Customer service is going out. This, according to the No. 2 idea that is changing the world. Time magazine 3-24-08. It all started back in 1916 when Piggly Wiggly came up with the revolutionary idea of self-service.
Today we have self-service at some grocery stores, libraries, airiports, banks and other places. But this is just the beginning, according to this article. In the Fresh & Easy grocery stores in the U.S ., all the lanes are self-checkout. In Seattle's new airport the ticket counter will be eliminated. Hospitals are beginning to use check-in kiosks for emergency room visits.
I get the message. So the next time I go to Price Chopper I am going to use their self checkout.
