This University, located at Rolla, MO, was the first technological learning institution west of the Mississippi River. It was founded in 1870, as an offspring of Missouri University. It was first known as the MO School of Mines and Metallurgy; later as University of MO--Rolla. Now it's official name is Missouri University of Science and Technology. I like to refer to it as MST, the MIT of the Midwest.
The average ACT score of its freshmen in 2007 was 27.5, compared to a national average of 20.9. It's graduates are much sought by companies from all over the country.
Why am I giving you all of this info? Because I know somone in school there.
