Royals Baseball

What a way to start! The Royals winning 5-4 at Detroit. I watched the first inning on Fox Sports, and it appeared the Royals had no chance of winning against the powerful Tigers at their home field on opening day. Later in the afternoon, as I was backing my car out of the garage I picked up the game on 610. Low and behold the Royals were leading 5-4 at the bottom of the eleventh. The Tigers lead-off batter got a double; then a sacrifice fly sent him to third. I thought another case of our giving up a lead late in the game. But we kept them from scoring and won. It looks like we have a chance to do better than 500 this year. I really like our new manager Trey Hillman, who communicates so very well with his players and the media. (The picture was taken last May 4, when I was honored by the Royals and was seated in the Buck O'Neil chair).
