Bodies Revealed

I visited the exhibit at Union Station this morning. Very interesting! Thoughts that came to my mind: As I stood right in front of a full body skeleton, I asked myself, just what is the difference between a living person and a dead person. And I was reminded as to just how very complex the human body is. Here are a few of the many quotes on display:
". . . Your body is the only thing you carry with you from the moment you are born until your very last breath."
"Over 600 muscles line and wrap nearly every square inch of the body."
"Recent research has indicated that the brain is a 'use it or lose it' organ, remaining strong if continually challenged and utilitzed."
"The brain contains upwards of a trillion nerve cells. Some brain cells make connectiion with over 10,000 others in a split second."
"Studies have shown that eating breakfast can improve your memory."
"More than 12 billion nerve cells process information to the central nervous system."
"The circulatory system is the body's super highway. The blood within it transports everything our cells need to sustain life."
"Nearly 70% of the cases of cardiovascular disesase in the United States are related to obesity."

Last time we were out in California we saw a very similar exhibit. It was called Body Works. I was wonderful. I was very suprised and interested by all the things they show-cased.
