WHO IS A CONSERVATIVE ?
My conclusion: One who favors less government; more authority left to the States and local government; lower taxes; less spending; smaller public debt; but a larger military, to protect our liberties.
I don't believe that views on such matters as abortion, gay rights, prayer in school or public funds for parochial schools are directly related to the issue of who is a conservative. In fact, Barry Goldwater, the prime leader in the present conservative movement, came out against the religious right on issues such as abortion and gay rights.
Attention is called to the following website, giving answers of the presidential candidates to the question asked by the ACU as to "what it means to be a conservative president?"
