66 years ago I was a soldier stationed at Ft. Knox KY. On SundayDecember 7 I was visiting my former KU roommate Frank Shinkle in Evansville, IN. Right after dinner, I was with Frank and his wife in a grocery store in Evansville when a man stepped up to me and told me about the attack on Pearl Harbor. All military personnel were ordered to report back to their bases immediately. This changed everything.
Yes, I was at one time assigned to motorcycles at Ft. Knox. My barracks is in the background in this picture.
