Pad and Pen

While attending the Signal Corps OCS at Ft. Monmouth, N.J. in 1944, I learned the importance of making notes concerning anything important that you needed to remember. In the military service I was not given an order twice or given a reminder. I have continued the practice to this day. I always have a pad and pen in my pockets--easy to reach--to quickly make notes. It might be a name, phone number or address, a reminder of something to buy or errand to run, the date of an event, a web site, title of a good book et seq. The following evening or morning I transfer the info to the appropriate place, such as my appointment book, Journal or a file. I highly recommend this practice.
