About one in every six Americans

are now on Medicaid, according to a N Y Times article October 1. About 49 million people as of the end of 2009. That is an alarming figure. There has been a great increase because of the economy.
Each State must contribute, and most States are strapped for money. Without more help from the federal government, there would have to be drastic cuts in Medicaid payments. And the federal government is already in trouble with Social Security and Medicare. So, what should we do?
