Off with the Necktie

For the Chef's dinner last nite at Kingswood, I wore my dark dress suit, a clean white shirt, and even black leather shoes---but no necktie. I was daring---because I had never gone without a tie before when in full dress. To my surprise, Jan made no complaint. If we had been going to church, she would have.
Putting on a necktie is such a nuisance---the biggest reason for not wanting to dress up. So I have been thinking ---there's no good reason for having this knot around your neck. If you want decoration, throw on a colorful scarf.
