Power Off

This afternoon about 4 o'clock the lights went out. It was real cold outside and getting dark. So reminiscent of bygone yeas when the power was off for many days--- the inconvenience and torture of being cold in the dark.. Fortunately the power came back on in about an hour. To me, this was a wakeup call to be prepared for future emergency situations. It reminded me of the necessity of always having on hands several flashlights and extra batteries; to be sure the flueless fireplace was in order; to have food (not requiring heat) and water on hands to survive a siege of several days.
