This is the car I want for Christmas. On my Dec 17 posting, I asked for an all-electric car. I have recently learned that none are available. But the B Y D Co. of Shenzhen, China put this car on the market Dec. 15 for $22,000. You have to go to China to get it, but this should be no problem for Santa. This is the first mass-produced plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV). Unlike the conventional hybrid electric vehicle (HEV), such as the Toyota Prius, it can be charged from a wall outlet. It has an all-electric range of 60 miles and the battery can be re-charged in 7 hours. Since Warren Buffet purchased a 9.9% interest in BYD, you can bet that this car will be available in the U. S. in a year or so.
