Tomorrow (Tues.) you will be able to attend for free a concert of a 17-year-old pianist, described in the Star Magazine yesterday as "one of the most remarkable pianists of his generation." His name is Behzod Abduraimov, from Uzbekistan. He is a freshman at Park University and will be giving 2 performances at the Chapel of the University at Parkville from 1:15 to 1:40 pm and from 2:30 to 3:00.
He is probably the most interesting pianist that I have ever heard.
I particularly relate to him because 76 years ago I was a 17-year-old freshman at Park. Eight years from now you will have to pay $400 to hear him at Alice Tully Hall in Lincoln Center.
