The Sun

Good news! The sun is on its way back. Yesterday at 12:08 AM was the winter solstice, when the sun is in its southernmost position. Today the sun rose at 7:35 AM and set at 5:00 PM. Gradually the sun will rise earlier and set later.
It is easy to see why the peoples of many different countries have considered the sun a god and have worshipped the sun.
The sun is the mightiest power that we can directly observe. All life on earth depends on the heat, light, and other kinds of energy given off by the sun. The earth is a small offspring of the sun and when the sun dies billions of years from now, the earth will also perish. Since all of our energy is derived from the sun, I believe that eventually we will succeed in directly harnessing solar energy, to supply all the power that man needs.
