The Chiefs

Let's not give up on the Chiefs. They are here to stay. They are bigger than the present players, the coaches, the general manager, and even the Hunts. I have spent many many happy hours attending games, watching and listening on TV, reading about and talking about. The Chiefs and Arrowhead have been a big part of my life, and they are an essential part of the revitalized Kansas City. I remember vividly talking with State Representative Morris , back in the late 1960s, while on the freight elevator at the Kansas City Courthouse. He had just come back from Jefferson City and said that he had succeeded in getting passed through the General Assembly the legislation enabling the citizens to vote on the dual stadiums. The bonds permitting the construction were approved by a very narrow vote. And it would have failed were it not for the intended innovative roof. It is our good fortune that we have already voted in favor of the renovations to Arrowhead and Kauffman Stadium. If we had to vote tomorrow, it would fail. Go Chiefs!
