Mayor Funkhouser

The Funk was right--the Kansas City Star wrong--regarding the City Council repealing the Chastain light rail plan--rather than waiting to let the people vote on the issue. The mayor made it clear in his email to the people on the morning of November 8, exactly where he stood and his reasons. He led the charge that resulted in the council's decisive action. Clay Chastain should accept the fact that his plan is not feasible. But he should be glorified because it was his work in getting the referendum initiative adopted that has resulted in definite action now being taken to have light rail in Kansas City.
